American CrossFit athlete Breona Evans Wallin is a six-time CrossFit Regionals athlete and a former contestant on The Rock’s Titan Games. A former gymnast and competitive cheerleader, Breona discovered CrossFit seven years ago and now squeezes in several hours of training each day at CrossFit Identity, the box her husband owns in Atlanta, alongside her fulltime job as an accountant.  

In between working and training, 29-year-old Breona took time out for quick-fire Q&A about her training, background and CrossFit experience to date. Thanks, Breona!

If you know CrossFit, you know Sam Briggs. Affectionately known as ‘the Engine’ due to her unstoppable endurance, Sam made the switch from triathlon and duathlon to CrossFit at the end of 2010 and within three years won the 2013 CrossFit Games. Oh, and the former firefighter is also an indoor rowing world record holder.

A few weeks ago I caught up with Sam at her box, TRAIN Manchester, where she and fellow CrossFit athlete and Fire & Ice teammate, Sara Sigmundsdottir, were warming up for their Team Series workouts.

In 2015, after barely two years practising the sport, Tia-Clair Toomey stunned the CrossFit world (and herself) by taking 2^nd place in her rookie year at the 2015 CrossFit Games. Proving it was no one-off, the former track athlete went on to repeat her success with a second place in the 2016 Games, officially earning herself the title of two-time ‘Second fittest woman on earth’.

I’ve never tried crossfit, but I love the message in this video: be proud of what your body can do.
